Course Overview: This course does not qualify as a prerequisite for further advanced classes. Please refer to the curriculum path for more information and alternative options. This course covers basic operations of FANUC Robots, using the teach pendant as the main interface point. This course is geared toward providing Operators the introductory knowledge to interact with the robot.
Course Objectives: Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
-Navigate the teach pendant menus
-Power up and Jog the Robot
-Understand User and Tool Frames and their impact on programs
-Step test and continuous test production programs
-Execute production operations
-Modify motion statements and positional data
-Diagnose Faults
-Recover from a crash
-Backup and restore individual programs and files
Recommended safety procedures are integrated into all training exercises. The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned. In addition to lab exercises, a pretest and posttest are used to measure mastery of objectives.
Audience: This course is intended for the person who operates or may be required to perform maintenance on System R-J or newer controllers and FANUC robot equipped with a standard application software package.
