FANUC America will demonstrate a variety of automation solutions for the woodworking industry at the AWFS Fair 2019
ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – (July 17, 2019) – FANUC America, the leading supplier of robotics, CNCs and ROBOMACHINEs will demonstrate a variety of automation solutions for the woodworking industry at the AWFS Fair, July 17-20 in Las Vegas, booth #7071.
CNC Powered Tabletop Router - FANUC will demonstrate the FANUC Series 0i-MODEL F CNC system running a tabletop router. FANUC motors power the motion on the system and show the speed and precision that is possible even on a small-scale router. In the demonstration, the router will simulate machining a 3-D image, requiring high precision and offering fast speeds. A sample of the finished piece will be available for visitors to see close up.
The 0i-F CNC and the servo motor cart controlling motion and movement are constructed as a FANUC CNC training simulator. These simulators can be fully customized and built to match a customer’s existing system so machine operators, programmers, and maintenance/engineering personnel can learn new skills, test new approaches and troubleshoot existing programs without taking a machine out of production. The Beta-i Servo Simulator provides 3-axis motion simulation so manufacturing engineers and maintenance personnel can visualize servo movement produced by their part program. The simulator may also be used for learning servo parameter setup and enhance servo motor tuning skills.
User-Friendly Cobots - FANUC CR-15iA collaborative robot equipped with a 3DV/400 Vision Sensor presents a gift to attendees who place their business cards in a holder.
FANUC offers the widest range of collaborative robots that can handle products from 4-35kg. Like the entire family of collaborative robots, the CR-15iA combines FANUC’s world-renowned technology, proven reliability and a very sensitive built-in sensor that allows it to work safely alongside people in a variety of industrial/manufacturing jobs including machine tending, dispensing, inspection, kitting, palletizing, welding, e-commerce, and more.
High-Speed SCARA Robot – A FANUC SR-6iA SCARA robot will demonstrate high speed picking and placing of two different size batteries.
FANUC’s SR-3iA and SR-6iA SCARA robots feature high-speed, precise operation for pick and place, assembly, testing/inspection and packaging processes in a wide range of industries including consumer electronics, auto component, plastics, food and beverage, lab automation, appliances, medical device manufacturing and woodworking.
FANUC’s SCARA robots offer best-in-class motion performance. The SR-3iA offers a 3kg payload, 400mm reach, and 200mm stroke, and the SR-6iA has a 6kg payload, 650mm reach and 210mm stroke. A compact, lightweight design provides significant space savings.
Robotic Sanding – A FANUC M10iD/12 robot picks a chair seat and places it onto a fixture using the FS-15iA Force Sensor’s phase matching option allowing the robot to align and match the chair seat to the fixture. Next, the robot flips the tool and sands the top surface using the Force Sensor’s contour option enabling the sander to apply constant force – this is especially useful for uneven surfaces. Once the robot sands the top side it picks up the seat and places it bottom-side up in the fixture for sanding using the same technique. Once both sides are sanded the robot transfers the seat to a glue nozzle to simulate gluing. Finally, the robot places the seat back on the chair, performs a variety of dance moves, and the cycle repeats.
The M-10iD/12 and M-10iD/10L robots are the next generation of FANUC’s compact material handling robots. The M-10iD robots are rated best-in-class for speed and repeatability. A sleek and lightweight design features internal cable routing and a curved J2 robot arm, minimizing interference with work pieces and fixtures and allowing more productivity in the work area. The robots also feature a long reach and stroke - even in the backflip region – making it easier for customers to apply the robot while maximizing their available workspace – including larger parts or tooling.
Technology Panel - Jim Cooper, executive director of global accounts for FANUC America will share his insights on the latest automation solutions designed to help woodworking companies maximize productivity and gain a competitive edge. The panel discussion “New Technology for Woodworking Businesses” takes place on Friday, July 19, 1:30-3:30 p.m.
